In 1996 I travelled to The Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York where I studied the skills of stained glass and loom beading. These skills were then taught to disadvantaged young people throughout New England. It was during this time that a spark for craft and education was ignited in me that I am still pursuing today.
Having successfully completed a BA (Hons) in Illustration for Children’s Publishing, I am spending more time on my main love of making books. Having studied many traditional techniques of bookbinding I began to discover many more interesting and unique styles of binding. With this more contemporary style of work I have created and sold many books to stores both in the UK and the USA as well as on the beautiful Greek Island of Skiathos where I travel to as often as I can.
During my time of study I noticed a complete lack of bookbinding workshops that covered anything but the basics, so now I am starting up my own business to both deliver these workshops and also to enable like minded appreciators of the book arts to achieve success in making books.
